The four-step path to dynamic impact

Impact Zone Training System Volume 4 picks up after the Five Dynamics and turns them into a practice-ready sequence: setup, grip, load, lag, the workhorse, divot feedback, and clubface control, working together for repeatable compression.

01

Setup and Grip

Create a functional foundation so the hands work together, the wrists stay free, and the swing can generate force athletically.

  • Posture
  • Grip function
  • Aim
02

Load, Lag & the Workhorse

Train the central keys for power: load the club, retain lag, and use the lower body to drag the club through impact.

  • Load
  • Lag
  • Hip sequence
03

The Tic-Tac-Toe Drill

Bobby's go-to Impact-Based® drill measures swing bottom, club path, and strike location straight from your divot pattern.

  • Divot feedback
  • Swing bottom
  • Path
04

Squaring the Clubface

Control face angle through grip adjustments instead of manipulating the clubface through the impact zone.

  • Face control
  • Grip tweaks
  • Shot shape

Bobby Clampett

Bobby Clampett is a PGA Tour winner, CBS Sports golf analyst, author of The Impact Zone, and one of the most credentialed teachers in golf. He remains active teaching students and training instructors through Impact Zone Golf, and is the only person in history to be both a PGA Tour winner and a Master PGA Professional in Teaching and Coaching. Bobby's method focuses on one truth: every great ball-striker shares the same five dynamics at impact, regardless of swing style.

"Forget what your swing looks like. Focus on what happens at the moment of truth: impact. That's where the game is won or lost."

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A major goal of the course is improving swing bottom. Bobby teaches you to read divots and train the club to bottom out forward of the ball, which is one of the keys to cleaner contact.
It can. In the clubface lesson, Bobby explains that an open clubface at impact is usually addressed through grip adjustments, not by throwing the clubhead early and losing impact dynamics.
The workhorse is Bobby's term for the lower-body engine that helps deliver lag through impact. The course connects ground pressure, hip motion, and sequencing so the arms do not have to do all the hitting.
Not necessarily. Bobby separates grip function from grip style. The priority is that your hands work as a unit and your wrists stay free, then grip tweaks can help manage clubface angle at impact.
It gives you feedback on three things golfers usually guess at: where the swing bottoms out, what path the club is traveling through impact, and where the ball would be struck on the clubface.
A flat bunker makes the feedback easiest to see, but the workbook notes the drill can also be done on dirt or tightly mowed grass if you have an appropriate practice area.
